The BIS Forum 2019 will be on Wednesday 20th March at the Media Resource Centre, Llandrindod Wells.
The forum is an opportunity to meet recorders and see a range of presentations about local projects & recording schemes and to meet the BIS staff.
We have a range of topics and speakers covering Oil beetles, Marsh fritillary, Adders, Red Squirrels & Root smuts on a species level, along with projects on burial ground conservation, local wildlife sites, the Long Forest, Elan Links and the BSBI Floral Atlas 2020 as well as updates from BIS staff.
Guest speaker is the young botanist Joshua Styles who will talk about the North West Rare Plants Initiative he founded. It's aim is to cultivate & reintroduce vascular plant species on the brink of extinction at a regional level, where suitable situations exist. It will no doubt give you ideas to think about locally.
